Veneer
What is a veneer?
A veneer is used to change a tooth's color or shape. It can make teeth appear whiter, more uniform, straighter or close gaps between teeth.
A veneer is a thin facing of tooth-colored porcelain cemented onto a tooth . For a veneer, the front of the tooth is reduced slightly (<1mm).

A mold is taken of the tooth and sent to the lab which makes the veneer. The veneer is then cemented onto the tooth.
White fillings ("tooth colored fillings", "composite fillings", "bonding") can also be used to change a tooth's color or appearance. But veneers are more durable and recommended when making larger changes.
