Crown/Bridge
What is a crown?
A crown also called a "cap" is used when a tooth is broken or in danger of breaking. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic reasons changing the color or shape of teeth.
Doing a crown takes two appointments. On the first appointment, the tooth is prepared by reducing it slightly in size(<2mm).

A mold of the tooth is made and sent to the lab which makes the crown. A temporary crown is placed on the tooth and the patient allowed to leave. On the second appointment, the the temporary crown is removed and the real crown delivered. There are two types of crowns:1)gold crowns and 2)tooth colored crowns.
What is a bridge?
A bridge is used to replace missing teeth. Doing a bridge takes two appointments. On the first appointment, the teeth on either side of the missing teeth are prepared by reducing them slightly in size. A mold of the teeth are made and sent to the lab which makes the bridge. A temporary bridge is placed on the teeth and the patient allowed to leave.

On the second appointment, the the temporary bridge is removed and the real bridge delivered. The bridge is permanently cemented on and is not removed.
